Slowly, details are emerging of what actually occurred in the days that followed, and on the night dozens of Boko Haram members abducted nearly 300 students from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok at gunpoint. One resident of that village has stepped forward, and in a wide-ranging and candid interview with Sahara TV on Saturday, told for the first time just how Federal Government officials reacted, and responded.
Not much of a response at all, it turns out.
It is a story contrary to what as been told publicly by officials in Abuja, the Nigerian Capital, to both the Nigerian press, and to the world media.
Dr. Allen Manasseh is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Pan Chibok Youth Association. In his Saturday talk with Sahara TV Host Fungai Maboreke, Manasseh said that there was “no help” at all from Federal government officials within the first five days of the dramatic kidnapping that continues to grip Nigeria.
