National Conference Delegate, representing the Supreme Council For Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Nurdeen Lemu, spoke to SaharaTV’s Rudolf Okonkwo about Nigeria’s ongoing National Conference in Abuja. Lemu began by acknowledging the boko haram bombing attacks in Abuja and described the delegates reaction. “It was a consensus on the floor, but the actions of those people were condemned, just like the perpetrators were condemned,” said Lemu. He also discussed the Muslim representation at the conference and noted that the “Muslim delegates are just 38 percent,” therefore at “a numerical disadvantage when it comes to voting,” He said. However Mr. Lemu said that he believes the conference is comprised of several Nigerians who “do care about peace and progress” for Nigeria.
