Auwal Ibrahim Musa, Executive Director of the Civil Society Advocacy Center in Abuja, discusses why corruption reigns in Nigeria. He blames the plight on government officials and concludes that many of them see no problem with corruption. “We’ve always had a problem of corruption in Nigeria but this time around the government is actually promoting it,” said Musa during the interview. He also blames the current government of Pres. Goodluck Jonathan for continuing the tradition of corruption in Nigeria. “The president is comfortable with the people around him that commit corruption,” said Musa.
