Charles Cooper, Organizer for New York City’s African Community Health Series joins SaharaTV’s Tracy Thompson in a discussion on health awareness amongst NYC’s black populations. Cooper, a native of Liberia has been organizing events within NYC’s African community for several years and takes pride in giving back to the community. “I’ve been helped and it’s up to me and those that are fortunate enough to give back,” said Copper. According to Cooper there are not enough health clinics throughout NYC to provide for the NYC population and communities need to voice their concerns to elected officials. “It’s incumbent on the elected officials to get the information to the people, that’s what they’re elected for,” said Cooper.
